Trine, the recently released downloadable game from Finnish developer Frozenbyte and publisher Nobilis, took the European PlayStation Network by storm. After only two weeks, the game climbed the charts to become the top seller in September. This fact has instilled the publisher with a lot of faith in the title for its upcoming US PSN release on the 22nd of October this month.

For those who don’t know, Trine is a fantasy action platform adventure with role-playing elements and physics-based gameplay. Three characters, a thief, a wizard and a warrior are brought together by the power of the Trine, an ancient artefact which binds men’s souls together, and must work together to escape their predicament and save the kingdom from the army of undead arrayed against it. The only problem is they don’t like each other one little bit, which is where the game’s wicked sense of humour comes in. It’s worth a look if you’re into puzzle-platformers along the lines of The Lost Vikings.

The thief is nimble and can use her bow to take out enemies and shoot various puzzle-related targets from a distance.
