When I saw this, the nerd in me just couldn’t resist posting it as news for the sheer amusement factor of it. Yes, I used to play Dungeons and Dragons, seated around a table with a bunch of other single guys, rolling a D20 to determine my character’s chances of escaping a hermaphrodite strip bar unmolested (seriously). I even ran a few games. And while I don’t know if I’ll ever play again, things like this just tickle me for some reason.

It seems that the Jones Soda Company in the US and Canada has recently released a special line of Dungeons and Dragons-themed soda. The six different flavours bear the names Illithid Brain Juice, Sneak Attack, Potion of Healing, Dwarven Draught, Bigby’s Crushing Thirst Destroyer, and Eldritch Blast, can you believe it? I wondered for a moment whether role-players would actually drink this stuff during their sessions, but then I remembered that, in the US at least, the nerd ratio is much higher, and people there attend movie screenings and role playing sessions in full costume – so yeah, I guess there is potential there. Now we just need a brewery to release authentic D&D themed mead so that players can quaff alongside their imagined alter-egos.

Ilithid Brain Juice and Dwarven Draught? With names like that, how could you not give it a try?
