This is some of the best news I’ve heard in gaming in a while. Who remembers the hit action game, American McGee’s Alice back on the PC about a decade ago? It was a bizarre retelling of the Alice in Wonderland story through the eyes of a traumatised girl who witnessed her family burning in a house fire she accidentally caused. The trip into Wonderland was actually Alice struggling with the demons in her subconscious as she lays strapped down in an asylum. It was delightfully twisted with a little bit of gothic styling (like Alice’s 16-hole boots worn under her traditional Disney outfit) and had some excellent dialogue.

Well, the American McGee is at it again, and this time his current company, Spicy Horse, has partnered up with EA’s DICE Studios to produce the sequel to Alice. Knowing full well what American McGee has achieved in the past and what EA’s DICE studios has achieved in the last two years, I can’t help but be filled with hope for another dark and twisted adventure. If you’re finding this all a little too good to be true, then check out the teaser trailer here.
