Oh dear. It seems that the American politicians are at it again – trying to make the land of freedom and liberty better by telling everyone what they can and can’t do. As usual, they’re sticking their oars into matters they know nothing about. In this case, gamers in some states in the US might eventually have to resort to buying games from seedy little shops while wearing hats, dark glasses and high-collared trenchcoats, leaving with their recent purchase in non-descript brown paper bags. A new law is under review by the US Supreme Court threatening to ban the sale of games with any and all kinds of violence and other objectionable content to minors, limiting the retail opportunities to adult focused stores… like sex shops. The CEOs of both Take Two and EA have already voiced their concerns and opposition to the bill, and that’s to be expected, but I think we’re all completely on their side, aren’t we?
