Do you still cry yourself to sleep at night over Modern Warfare 2’s lack of dedicated servers on the PC? Do you still feel like Infinity Ward should rather have shot you in the eyes with arrows than removed mod tools from their game? Do you still feel like the world hates you because you lost your dev console and are now left with no way to hack your way into winning every match you play? Then you and your fellow clannies will be glad to hear that all of these glorious, whinge-inducing (when they’re not around, at least) things will be present in the next Call of Duty title, Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Campers - they're gaming's Chlamydia. Chances are you won't know they're around until they ruin all your fun.

It’s been known for a while now that dedicated servers will return, but now that we have official word on the return of mod tools and the dev console, it’s clear that developer Treyarch is looking to turn your PC-gaming frown upside down. CoD on the PC is reverting to its good old self, so it’s officially safe for us to put the pitchforks down and stop flaming and whining on Internet forums everywhere. We don’t know when the mod tools will arrive, because mod tools must be the last thing on the minds of the Treyarch developers while they’re furiously working to get the actual game ready for store shelves, but at least we know they’re definitely coming after the game is released.

In other Black Ops-related news, check out the crazy cool Prestige Edition (pictured below) for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, if you haven’t already. OMG radio-controlled car with spy camera! Couple that with the night vision goggles you got last year with Modern Warfare 2’s Prestige Edition, and you’re well on your way to being much, much cooler than your friends. More details on the Prestige Edition can be found here.

Pity the RC car doesn't go boom like it does in that multiplayer gameplay trailer.
