If you own Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2 on PC, your Steam client should already be downloading The Sacrifice, an expansion compatible with both the original and the sequel. It’s a pretty hefty update, so if you’re low on cap you may want to tell Steam to not automatically update your games. Also, part four (along with the first three parts) of The Sacrifice’s digital comic tie-in can be viewed here. Geoff and I plan to take The Sacrifice out for a night of gleeful zombie hunting soon, so we’ll be sure to let you know what we think of it. If we don’t, we probably both had our brains eaten while arguing over which one of us was going to die to save the other survivors. It’s probably all Geoff’s fault.

Left 4 Dead: The Sacrifice

Bill - approximately 76.4% more manly than anyone else on the planet.

Keep in mind that, while this expansion is free for PC gamers, owners of Xbox copies of the games will have to cough up 560 Microsoft points ($7) for the DLC. Speaking of money, Valve is also running a Steam sale right now that”ll let you save many pretty pennies on L4D and L4D2. Buy nice things now.
