It involves Ezio Auditore da Firenze, only he’s old – really old. It’s not another game though because we already know that upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is the last time we’ll get to off Templars as Ezio. Nope, the people over at UbiWorkshop have put together an animated short film on the later years of Ezio’s life.

Assassin’s Creed Embers will be available for download off the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on 15 November when Assassin’s Creed: Revelations launches. The short film will also come bundled in the numerous fancy editions of Revelations.

The trailer is below; check it out with all of its stylised art direction. Ezio sure is an old man in this story, but it looks like he’s still capable of perforating people who threaten his family. What’s this? Ezio gets a family? A child? A daughter? Are we going to get to play as his daughter in future games? A jump to a female protagonist would be great, although I’m not sure how that would tie in with Desmond Miles. Still, judging by Ubisoft’s penchant for spin-off games in the Assassin’s Creed IP, anything is possible.
