No Red Dead Redemption for you, PC gamers

Over on the Rockstar blog there’s a Q&A session going on. Some interesting stuff has come out of it so far as well as some downright depressing stuff. Depressing like they’ve confirmed that John Marston and his trusty steed will never ride across the dusty plains while being rendered on PC hardware; one of the best games of this current generation is not coming to PC, and that’s a damn shame.

Justifying their decision to deny PC gamers Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar said: “All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform) – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms.”

Boo! On bright side, Rockstar also said that they hoped “that between the Grand Theft Auto titles, and the forthcoming L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, you’ll have plenty of great Rockstar action to enjoy.” And then on the brighter bright side, if you’re a PC gamer who is yet to branch into console gaming, you now have a definite must-play title ready for you when you make the jump. And you really should make the jump because you’re missing out on a ton of really great games.
