Since 2003, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (or the BAFTAs – an acronym which I loathe for some reason) has acknowledged the top videogames produced each year. This year the British Academy Video Games Awards is happening on 16 March. Don’t confuse this with the other BAFTA awards for TV and film; those are happening this weekend, 12 February.

One award at the British Academy Video Game Awards is open to the public for voting. That voting has just opened and you’re free to pick your favourtire from a line-up of some amazing games of 2011.

The games have been shortlisted and include ten different titles. Some of the obvious standouts are Skyrim, Batman: Arkham City, Minecraft, Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3. You can head over to this website, enter your email address and cast your vote.
