The vehicular combat game created by David Jaffe (who also created God of War in case you were wondering) looks like it might be getting a full-on Hollywood film adaptation, if reports over on Deadline.com are to be believed.
Apparently Sony has made “a preemptive 7-figure deal” with director Brian Taylor, who has just finished co-directing the new Ghostrider film. The Twisted Metal film will be produced by Avi and Ari Arad, who also worked on the Ghostrider film. Avi Arad’s previous works include all of the Spider-Man films.
According to Deadline.com the film’s plot will follow the game’s basic premise in which people are drawn into a vehicular combat contest help by Calypso. Whoever emerges victorious gets any wish granted. The series’ signature cars will supposedly make appearance, as will Sweet Tooth and Dollface.
