So, depending on how big a masochist you are, the good news might be that Dark Souls is finally heading to PC. Turns out online petitions do actually work, which must be a first. Namco Bandai has now officially unveiled Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the platform favoured by those who shun the peasant consoles. Well then we guess that’s the good news.
This means that the bad news must be that it’s going to be a Games For Windows Live title. I know, I know! Think of it as karma though: you moaned and kicked and screamed for the game to come to PC, and now you have to pay for that in some way other than, you know, your money. Or something.
The Prepare to Die Edition will feature new bosses for you to slice to bits get mutilated by at least thirteen dozen times before you figure out how to kill them. The game will be hitting in August and you can check out the first trailer after the jump.
And yes, of course there’s already another online petition to remove GFWL from the PC version. Oh Internet, you’re so predictable… but I think that’s why I love you.
