The first chapter of downloadable content for Borderlands 2 is out next week on 16 October. Entitled “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty”, this is the same DLC that was outed earlier this week by a Trophy listing for the PlayStation 3 version of the game.

You’ll be joined by new NPC character Captain Scarlett, who seems to be missing a lot of body parts – an eye, her arm and one leg. Poor girl. Together you’ll be journeying across the desert to find (presumably) her Pirate’s Booty. The DLC will include a new desert skiff vehicle that looks like it comes straight out of Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge fleet, so I’m expecting numerous Return of the Jedi references.

The DLC makes up the first part of the Season Pass offering. If you didn’t pick up the $30 Season Pass, “Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty” will cost you $9.99.
