Would it be wrong to say that the Wii U has been haemorrhaging exclusives over the last couple of weeks? It’s only lost two so far, but given the amount of confirmed third-party exclusives coming to the console, that’s a lot.
There are two other Wii U exclusives that have many people interested, and both are from famed Japanese developer Hideki Kamiya and his Platinum Games studio. Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 are both big Wii U draw cards in Nintendo’s line-up, and with the recent loss of Ninja Gaiden and Rayman Legends Wii U exclusivity, many people are wondering whether Platinum Games’ titles will follow suit.
Kamiya recently took to Twitter to say that Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101 will remain Wii U titles until such time as Nintendo decides to publish them on other platforms. “We are a developer,” Kamiya began, “Nintendo are the ones kind enough to fund and publish our The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 projects. So if Nintendo says, ‘We are publishing Bayonetta 2 on PS3/360,’ then it will happen. So please go ask them, not us.” The odds of that happening? Slim to none we’d say. Could you see Sony publishing the Uncharted or God of War series on anything other than a PlayStation? It’s pretty much the same thing.
