Yep, this again. A while back, Far Cry 3’s writer said that he was working on something “surprising” for the game. That announcement pretty much coincided with the discovery of some INSANE box art for something called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. You can catch up on all of that stuff right over here.
Yesterday (and yes, we’re aware yesterday was 01 April) Ubisoft flipped a switch that made a Blood Dragon website go live. It also meant that a trailer of sorts hit the interwebs. The whole thing is being packaged as a nineties crappy action film set in a post-apocalypse world with cyborgs and a protagonist who is a “Mark IV Cyber Commando” called Sergeant Rex Power Colt.
I have no idea what’s going on, but I think I want this. It’s worth noting that Ubisoft has recently released bizarre DLC for Assassin’s Creed III, so perhaps releasing bonkers add-on content for their AAA titles is a new modus operandi?
You can check out the website here in all of its tacky nineties glory. There’s all sorts of stuff hidden on the page; try entering the Konami Code (you know what that is, right?) and see what happens. Then, if you watch the brief teaser trailer that’s embedded, you’ll get a flash of something at the end.
Then there’s that Blood Dragon online shop where you can buy such amazing things as a Banana Carrier, Blood Dragon Steaks and the official Blood Dragon Baby Buggy.
You see kids? Drugs are bad, mmkay?
