In yet another Fox News moral panic TV special in the making, an American teen charged with attempted aggravated murder (plus 18 other crimes) had apparently planned to shoot his classmates and chuck bombs around his school while the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s soundtrack blared out of his car. Specifically, the track featured during the game’s mega-controversial “No Russian” mission. Seriously, do they not teach kids about clichés in high school English anymore?
According to a detailed itinerary found in Grant Acord’s bedroom, the assault would start around 11.10 AM when he would:
“Get gear out of trunk. Carry duffle in one hand, napalm firebomb in the other, walk towards school with (Airport Stalk music from the Call of Duty video game) blasting out of car. Drop duffle. Light and throw napalm, unzip bag and begin firing. Cooly state: ‘The Russian grim reaper is here.’ If 3rd exit is blocked by napalm fire, or is locked, run to 1st entrance.”
If you’re thinking this self-styled “Russian grim reaper” was just a regular teen with some melodramatic ’80s heavy metal album art fantasies, police apparently found a stockpile of homemade explosives including pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails hidden under the floor in his room.
Acord was arrested last week Thursday after a classmate ratted on him.
