“Sony has won E3” was the comment that we heard thrown around more than once while wondering the halls at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. This was prompted by the Japanese company’s very impressive pre-show press conference in which they revealed the final look of the console and provided frank information on their stance on DRM and used games. People were literally chanting “Sony!” once the news was out that DRM wasn’t a thing and Internet connectivity was not required.
This very warm reception at E3 has prompted Sony to increase their sales projection for the upcoming console. The company’s chief executive officer Andrew House has revealed that they aren’t ruling out console shortages when the PlayStation 4 goes on sale.
House did not provide any actual figures for these projected sales, but it’s clear that Sony is riding a wave of positivity post E3.
