Electronic Arts has rolled out a new video feature that details the changes made to the Frostbite engine. Upcoming man-shooter Battlefield 4 will use the newest iteration of Frostbite, which is now in its third version.
I’m pretty sure that we had an article similar to this one when EA was pushing Frostbite 2 in Battlefield 3. I’m also pretty sure that that article had a sentence along the lines of “OMG you guys just look at this Frostbite 2 engine! It’s the future! It’s incredible!” Well, that sentence is still good, only swap out the ‘2’ for a ‘3’ and we’re golden.
Even if you’re not a graphics slut or Battlefield fan, the video is worth watching just to see the levels of visual fidelity developers are capable of creating as we head into the next-gen of consoles. Man, there are some really clever people in this industry.
