The obvious movie reference headline would’ve been “You’re going to need a bigger boat”, but it didn’t fit across the limited headline space we have. Now that I think about it, that’s actually quite apt.

Eurogamer recently sat down with the very French Sebastien Berton, who is the lead game designer for Assassin’s Creed IV. While having a nice face-to-face conversation, they discussed hunting marine animals and how the harpooning mechanic will work. In total there will be six marine animals to hunt. So far only two have been revealed with the great white shark and whales already being ticked off the “To Murder” list. If there’s no giant squid and/or a kraken, I’ll be sad.

After the jump you’ll find Eurogamer’s video, which includes a bit of new gameplay footage showing off the shark hunting mechanic. If you don’t get completely distracted by the pools of blood that well up around the harpooned animals, you might hear Berton talking about the game’s hunting and crafting mechanics as well.
