If you’re in any way interested in 2D digital animation, GetSmarter is in the process of accepting registrations for an online short course, at the end of which you’ll hopefully not only know the ins and outs of 2D animation, but will also be granted a Certificate of Completion, approved by the University of Cape Town. The part-time course lasts for ten weeks and can be accessed from anywhere in South Africa.
Registrations close on the 30th of August 2013, and the actual course begins on September 9th. Those ten weeks will cost you R8,400. Anybody even remotely intrigued by this should head below the jump, where I’ve put a press release with all the info you could possibly need. Good luck!
The University of Cape Town and GetSmarter introduce new Digital Animation (2D) short course
Animation has come a long way in the last century, and is no longer the preserve of the entertainment industry. In today’s business world, animation has come to represent an exciting and innovative way of attracting – and keeping – audiences’ attention.
The University of Cape Town and South Africa’s foremost online educator GetSmarter have identified a growing interest in the field of digital animation in a variety of industries, and are proud to announce the launch of the University of Cape Town Digital Animation (2D) short course. The 10-week part-time short course, which starts on 9 September, is presented entirely online throughout South Africa.
About the course
In today’s fast-paced and competitive business environment, multimedia has become a powerful tool for attracting interest and being innovative in the representation of ideas and information. Animation is no exception to this trend. In addition to the vast advances in animation in the entertainment industry with films, series and gaming, there has been a shift in the boundaries of animation as a profession. Many job openings in creative fields such as marketing and web and graphic design now call for expertise in animation and storyboarding in addition to traditionally required skillsets. The UCT Digital Animation (2D) short course provides a foundation in the principles of animation, screenwriting and storyboarding skills, and using Adobe Flash to create and publish an animation.
Registration close: 30 August 2013
