Deep Down, Capcom’s procedurally generated dungeon-crawler that kind of sounds like a mash-up of Assassin’s Creed and Dark Souls, is a free-to-play title. The news came up over this last weekend at the Tokyo Game Show.
The PlayStation 4 exclusive will be getting a beta close to the Japanese release of Sony’s new console in February next year. It’s also an online-only title, so those holding out for a traditional, AAA retail release are probably a bit disappointed by all of this.
Free-to-play games? Beta releases? Online only? The closer we get to the launch, the more next-gen is sounding like PC gaming.
