Funny how Ubisoft has released a barrage of trailers and media coverage for upcoming Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, and yet we still have no clue what the game’s plot will entail. Sure we know the basics: you play Edward Kenway who will at some point find the time between stabbing people, leaping from high places and sinking ships, to father Assassin’s Creed III’s Haytham Kenway. There’ll be Assassins and Templars and some big sharks turning azure waters a cloudy red colour. The basics; right.

Considering the game is out at the end of this month for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it’s about time Ubisoft told us what the story is about. They’ve done so with this shiny new trailer, which was no doubt put together under the watchful eye of Ubisoft’s Antoine Auclair who was recently in South Africa attending rAge.

The local release of Assassin’s Creed IV has been brought forward to 29 October, which is in line with the US release date. The game will be hitting Wii U and PC on 22 November, and will launch locally alongside the PlayStation 4 on 16 December. It’ll also obviously be coming to Xbox One, but who knows when we’re getting Microsoft’s next-gen console.
