Did you know that there’s a Bayonetta anime in the works? Revealed just over a month ago during the Tokyo Game Show, the film will be shown in 10 theatres around Japan on 23 November 2013. There are currently no plans to release it to Western markets, but as website Joystiq points out, there is a button (albeit a inactive one) to translate the film’s official website into English. The fact that there’s the word “Wait” scribbled over the “English” button seems to indicate that the team working on the film is aware of the international interest.

The film, subtitled Bloody Fate, is being directed by Fuminori Kizaki, who directed other animes like Afro Samurai. Anime studio Gonzo is responsible for the project; if you’re a fan of Hellsing then you’ll be aware of their work.

Pretty much the entire cast of the original game will be making an appearance. There’s a new trailer for Bayonetta: Bloody Fate after the jump. It’s looking great so far even though we can’t understand a word of what’s being said. Here’s hoping we eventually get a Western release – even if it’s straight to DVD or something.

Bayonetta 2 is heading to the Wii U at some point in the not too distant future. It’s pretty much the only reason I haven’t packed away my already dusty Wii U. Insert sad face here.
