Developer Irrational Games has revealed that the first episode of upcoming BioShock Infinite DLC Burial at Sea will be available on 12 November 2013. First revealed at the end of July, Burial at Sea sees Infinite’s protagonist Booker head into the underwater city of Rapture to investigate the disappearance of a little girl. Those familiar with BioShock lore will likely guess where this is heading considering Rapture’s need for little girls.
The DLC has adjusted Infinite’s combat experience somewhat, placing more emphasis on stealth rather than guns-blazing approaches. There’ll be a host of new Plasmids (remember, we’re in Rapture now so they’re not called Vigors any longer) and new weapons. One new Plasmid, called Old Man Winter, was designed by a BioShock fan and picked up by Irrational for inclusion in Burial at Sea.
Burial at Sea – Episode 1 will cost $14.99 on Steam, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The second episode, which is still in development and will put players in the shoes of Elizabeth, will likely cost the same. Don’t forget that there is a Season Pass for BioShock Infinite that gives you access to both episodes of Burial at Sea as well as the recently released Clash in the Clouds DLC for $19.99. Much better deal if you ask us.
