Giblets: Dark Souls 2 could hit PC on 31 May

Good news, Master Race: while the word isn’t official, Amazon.com has put the PC version of Dark Souls 2 up on their website with a release date of 31 May. Back in September last year, when Namco Bandai announced the console version’s release date (14 March for us in SA), they had no word on the PC version. Recently we were told that the PC version would arrive “shortly after console release”. Turns out “shortly after” is publisher speak for two-and-a-half months later. We’ll update as soon as Namco confirms the release date.

The first Dark souls was probably one of the worst PC ports I have seen. My friend had to download an unofficial mod to play the damn thing in 1080p(changing it to 1080p made the game play in a little box). It was weird how that fact wasn’t really reported on. Hopefully they do a better job this time.

I bought this in the christmas steam sale, got the unofficial patch and a lot of mods to improve the visual quality of the game. Enjoying it now.

The game is very enjoyable, I just think it was messed up that they would sell a game in such a state where it is rendered basically unplayable without non official mods.

They did say that they have little to no experience in making it a PC game. They welcomed it that users would make it better for them.
