Blizzard has cautioned that players of World of Warcraft, Diablo III, StarCraft II and Hearthstone on European servers will likely experience connectivity issues. This is thanks to a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack against multiple European service providers. You should expect way higher latencies and outright disconnects at the moment.
“Although Blizzard’s infrastructure isn’t targeted,” the company said via a statement on Battle.net, “the disruption effects rippled and have been felt by a portion of our players’ population. While we are closely monitoring the situation we wanted to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
If you want the latest information regarding the service disruptions, you should follow @BlizzardCSEU_EN on Twitter. If you’re currently on school or university holiday and were hoping to spend most of the time playing Blizzard games, then that’s too bad and we have no sympathy because the rest of us have to work while you bum around doing nothing. WE’RE NOT JEALOUS, OK!
