Giblets: Xbox One controllers now work on PC

If you’re one of the very few people in the country who currently have a Xbox One or its controller and wish to use it with your PC – GOOD NEWS! According to a blog post on Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb’s website, you can now download the official drivers that will be pushed as an optional update in Windows Update for Windows Vista, 7 and 8/8.1. The drivers will also work on Windows XP provided that you use the links on the blog post. Install the driver, hook up the controller using a micro-USB cable and Bob’s your uncle!

You’ll still need to use it tethered with the cable though. Yeah. Nah. I’ll be sticking with my perfectly good 360 controller until it breaks.

Too bad they can’t make it work with the 360 receiver. Newer games will probably stop supporting the 360 and we’ll be forced to get the “One” controller – it’s the Microsoft way.
