Last year’s rebooted Tomb Raider was fantastic and put players in control of an inexperienced Lara struggling to survive her first adventure. Those who have played through the game know that Lara has seen things, man… she’s seen things. Consequently, the young Ms. Croft that we’re presented with in the debut trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider is a little twitchy. She’s in therapy; but while her therapist seems to think that Lara is there trying to come to terms with what happened to her, I get the feeling that Lara is in therapy trying to come to terms with what she’s becoming instead.
It looks like Crystal Dynamics is sticking with the character development themes they started in 2013’s Tomb Raider. That alone has me excited, because 2013’s Tomb Raider presented us with the most believable and relatable Lara Croft ever conceived. More character stuff, please!
You can find the reveal trailer after the jump. It’s all CG so don’t expect any gameplay just yet. The game is out during the holiday season of 2015 so there’s still quite a wait ahead of us.
