When Halo 5: Guardians was announced, all we really got was a full title and that piece of art you see above in the header image. The mystery Spartan who appears to be standing above a reflected Master Chief is Agent Locke, 343 Industries has revealed during E3.
Agent Locke will play an integral role in Halo 5: Guardians, and you’ll get to meet him and learn his backstory thanks to the live-action episodes of Halo Nightfall, which will be part of the recently unveiled video game anthology, Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Halo Nightfall is being produced by Ridley Scott; he of Alien and Blade Runner fame.
“You don’t have to watch this,” 343 Industries said of Halo Nightfall, “but knowing this will kind of tee you up for all the new things that are going on in Halo 5: Guardians.” There’s still quite a wait for Halo 5; the game is out for Xbox One sometime between September and November 2015. Halo: The Master Chief Collection will be out on Xbox One on 11 November 2014 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Halo 2.
