Sony is prepping up Driveclub for a Holiday 2014 launch and they’ve just announced the Special Edition for the game on the eve of Gamescom 2014. Driveclub launches on 10 October 2014 for South Africa. The Special Edition comes with some physical and some digital goodies that the regular version of the game won’t get. I’ve been waiting for the game’s launch since November last year and I’m really amped to see how much of a difference that extra year has made to the quality of the final title. Driveclub would usually require you to work your fingers off for the really high-end cars and vinyls/liveries and just like dat spankin’ Gran Turismo 6 Anniversary Edition, it comes with a few high-end cars of your own to give you a leg-up on the competition online. The frills in the Special Edition start with the following cars in your garage at the beginning of you career:
- McLaren P1
- Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series
- Ferrari 458 Italia
- Aston Martin v12 Vantage S
- Alfa Romeo 4C
Owners of the Special Edition of Driveclub additionally get the following:
- Foil treated, unique artwork housed in a high-quality card sleeve
- Two exclusive in-game livery packs to customise your car and club logo
- Two Driveclub emblem vinyl stickers (one white, one red) – perfect for your laptop or games console
Well, it looks like someone literally took inspiration from this photoshopped PS4 and decided to make it the real deal! Only the regular versions of Driveclub are available for pre-order today, but the Special Edition will no doubt tip up before the launch day.
