When Rocksteady Studios revealed Batman: Arkham Knight, it was slapped with an October 2014 release date. It was subsequently delayed to “2015”. We now have a final release date of 2 June 2015, which makes this about a nine month delay! We could all have kids by that stage. Just saying.
Alongside a final release date, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced two collector’s editions for Arkham Knight. The “Limited Edition” version comes with the game in a Steelbook case, issue zero of the DC Comics Batman: Arkham Knight comic series, an art book, 3 skins from the New 52 arc of Batman comics, and a 12” statue of Batman. That edition will be out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for about $100, so expect about R1, 500 here in South Africa.
The Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Edition comes with the same content, but instead of a Batman statue it comes with a transforming model of the Batmobile. In the game, the Batmobile can transform between Pursuit Mode (read: normal driving mode) and Battle Mode (read: tank of death mode). The model, designed by Triforce, will do the same. This edition is exclusive to the consoles and will be around $200, or just over R2, 000 locally.
