Developer CD Projekt has released a new developer diary for The Witcher 3. In this episode, the team walks you through their design choices for travel systems in the game. The Witcher 3 shifts the series into an open world, but the scale of that world is incredible. How big is it? Oh, you know, just 35 times the size of the entire play area found in The Witcher 2.

With an area that big comes two concerns: 1) how can they possibly make the world feel alive and unique if they have to design that much game world? And 2) how on Earth are you going to traverse around that much space?

This new developer diary aims to answer both those questions while showing off some new gameplay footage in the process. Check it out after the jump.
