Bungie and publisher Activision have revealed that the second big piece of DLC for Destiny, entitled “House of Wolves”, will release on Tuesday, 19 May. This time around, there won’t be an endgame Raid – a decision which has caused some eyebrows to be raised. “We didn’t make this decision lightly,” Bungie said in a statement. “Our team has been humbled by the reception of Raids in Destiny and we are creating a new Raid for a release later this year.” Bungie’s statement calls to mind the numerous bugs and exploits that have been found in the previous two Raids: The Vault of Glass, and Crota’s End.
“House of Wolves”, however, is sounding pretty neat. Bungie plans to release weekly news updates and video walkthroughs as we lead up to the DLC’s release in mid-May. The first of these updates will take place on Wednesday, 22 April.
The latest DLC will include a new region to explore: the Reef. Those who played the base game’s story missions will already be familiar with the background to this location, but this will be the first time the Reef will be a playable area. There are rumours that the Reef will be a new social area much like the Tower. Some new events for the Crucible have also been rumoured. What is certain, however, is that the endgame content will be a horde mode kind of thing called the “Prison of Elders”.
