Kotaku has been sent marketing material for Bungie’s next Destiny expansion. The expansion, which is called The Taken King, will cost players $40, and will bring a new raid featuring Crota’s father, Oryx. Oryx is pretty pissed that you killed Crota in the first Destiny expansion raid, and is now out for revenge. There will also be new PvP maps and strikes.
More interesting is the addition of three new sub-classes for each of the game’s existing classes. The new sub-classes will bring new super moves to each class as well: Hunters will get a Gravity Bow, Warlocks will get an Electrical Storm, and Titans will get a Flaming Hammer. Each of the new super moves will rely on three elements: void, arc, and solar respectively.
Back in January of this year, a lot of information on Destiny‘s future was leaked online. That leak revealed an expansion code-named “Comet”; it is believed that this expansion, The Taken King, is actually Comet. If it is then it’ll place this DLC for a September 2015 release. It is yet to be seen whether or not this expansion will indeed get a physical release or new story missions, as was rumoured in January. I’m sure we’ll see more at E3.
