Street Fighter V will soon be entering a closed beta to perform network testing, and Capcom has unveiled details of what we can expect. If you’re interested in helping test the next in this long-running series of brawlers, then hit the jump to learn more.
The beta will be PS4 exclusive, and will be available from July 24th to July 29th. Over the course of the beta period, six characters will be playable. Initially, this will only include Ryu, M. Bison, Chun-Li and Nash, but Cammy and Birdie will be added on July 25th. Four stages will be present, namely: Bustling Side Street, Terminal Station, Forgotten Waterfall and The Grid, which functions as a waiting room / training ground between fights.
Fights will take place via online multiplayer only (no local fighting in this beta), and players will select a character and then wait in The Grid for a challenger to appear. After the fight, players are returned to The Grid to wait again. If there’s any bad news to be had, it’s that PS3 fightsticks will not be compatible with the beta.
Remember that we South Africans fall under the European banner with regards to gaming regions. To sign up, follow this link right here and fill out your details. Applications end on the 15th of July, so don’t waste time. If you are selected, then you’ll receive an email on the 24th with a beta download key and further instructions. Be sure you read the terms and conditions, because the beta may include a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Street Fighter V is set to launch in March 2016 for PS4 and PC.
