In 2013 Internet Solutions sponsored a 1Gbps connection to the NAG LAN at the annual rAge Expo, setting the first initial record for a LAN connection in Africa. A total of 21TB was downloaded over the three days. In 2014 the gamers were treated to a 5.2Gigabit per second internet service, again courtesy of Internet Solutions. Last year saw traffic downloads reaching 99.64TB with 24.34TB uploaded.
This year Internet Solutions will once again be providing Africa’s fastest Gigabit Broadband service to the gamers in the NAG LAN.
IS is anticipating that the overall 122 TB of internet traffic served during rAge in 2014 will be exceeded during this year’s event, and they say they are well prepared for this.
“Internet Solutions is going bigger, better and faster at rAge 2015 demonstrating our continued commitment to the gaming community by providing Internet speeds that have not yet been seen on the African continent,” says Greg Montjoie, Executive, Connectivity at Internet Solutions. “We’ve made huge investments to be able to provide record breaking speeds for both Area 51 and the NAG LAN inside the Dome, where over 2,000 hard-core gamers will be able to properly enter alternate realities for the three day event, thanks to the super-quick Internet access that will be available for the duration.”
Michael James, senior project manager for rAge and publisher of NAG says, “Several sponsors make significant contributions to the success of rAge, and having the super fast Internet access speeds that Internet Solutions is providing to our gamers, visitors and exhibitors means that the expo stands proud as a multifaceted event geared particularly for the gaming community.”
The annual rAge 2015 expo will take place at the Ticketpro Dome, Northgate in Johannesburg from Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October 2015. Tickets are available from Computicket or at the door.
