Windows 10 launched last month to much fanfare from Microsoft, and its been a resounding success by all accounts. To date, Microsoft’s latest operating system has been installed on more than 75 million individual devices, from some of the latest and greatest hardware all the way to old rigs from the year 2007. While this is certainly a ton of revenue that Microsoft could have earned from license sales, this plays to the strengths of Windows 10 and Microsoft’s app store, where they’re going to certainly earn a significant portion of that money back through advertising and app sales from people actually using the OS. There are now more Windows 10 installs than there are Apple Mac devices out in the wild, and this has been Microsoft’s quickest rollout to date. That’s pretty incredible.
