I’ve played many of the Fallout games. You’ve probably played many of them as well! But you know what? Not everybody has played a Fallout game. For those people, these are intimidating times. As the gaming world’s frenzy for all things Fallout 4 starts to reach catastrophically high levels, the people who cannot tell their Deathclaws from their Bloatflies are in all likelihood scratching their heads and trying to keep up with all the hype in order to stave off that dreaded gaming FOMO.
Bethesda gets this, and that’s why they’re creating a new web series that sets out to explain many of the Fallout universe’s intricacies that you and I take for granted; intricacies such as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L system and how that all fits in with the series’ role-playing game genre.
The first episode focuses on the Strength attribute (the “S” part of S.P.E.C.I.A.L for all you Fallout virgins) and what that means for you as you blunder your way across the scarred environments of the wasteland. And for those of you who already know what’s cooking with the Fallout universe, this web series promises to be entertaining simply because the entire thing is presented as a Vault-Tec primer video. It’s also hilarious. And pretty gross. But mostly hilarious.
