I tried my best with the headline, but thinking up Hitman puns can be killer. Moving along: IO Interactive have just announced that their next title, Hitman, will be delayed until next year. Hit the jump for more information.
The new Hitman game was intended to take an episodic approach. This would mean that, at launch, only one level and a set of hits or objectives would be available, but more levels and hits would be added over time. According to IO’s statement, the delay is to improve the amount of content at launch. It’s a pretty long statement, so here’s the relevant bit:
“On top of that, we’re going for a new release model where we put out a good chunk of the game when it begins and then release the remaining locations over time… These few extra months will mean we can add more to the launch content of the game, more than we had originally planned“
The current expected release date is March 2016, and IO has promised more news outlining their plans for further content, as well as content-at-launch. Hitman is still set to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
