Is it possible to not love TrackMania? I don’t think it is. The simple, but brilliantly challenging joy of sending a zippy, acrobatic, indestructible car rocketing around ludicrously ramp-y, loop-y, boost-y tracks is just too strong for even the most heartless, fun-hating people to resist.
TrackMania Turbo is the arcade racer’s latest incarnation, and Ubisoft has revealed its release date. There’s also a new trailer that captures everything that makes TrackMania so alluring. Come, watch.
Yup, that’s definitely TrackMania. The game will ship with more than 200 similarly beautiful, wild tracks set across four different environments: Rollercoaster Lagoon (which is what you see in the trailer), International Stadium, Canyon Grand Drift and Valley Down & Dirty (wait… what?). Each of the environments will feature unique challenges and promote a different driving style. Naturally, the Trackbuilder will return, letting you design your own zany, impossible tracks for everyone to enjoy.
The game will be out on March 25th for PC, PS4 and XBO. It’ll bring with it a bunch of upgrades, both aesthetic and functional.
If you’ve not yet had your TrackMania fill, marvel at this bonkers 20,000 car thingum and check out the below video of a Press Forward track. It’s exactly as it sounds: these tracks are designed such that all you need to do is crunch the accelerator and the game’s physics system will do the rest. It’s quite the spectacle.
