Now that Bethesda’s made plans to fix that horrible box art for Doom, it’s officially 100% safe to feel excited about the game again. That’s great news! Especially since they’ve now announced that Doom‘s closed multiplayer beta will commence at the end of this month.

To coincide with the announcement of the beta dates, there’s a fresh trailer of the game’s multiplayer in action. Not only does it look deliciously brutal and chunky, but it also shows off what you can expect when facing off against foes as one of the game’s various monsters. BLOODY.

Doesn’t that look fancy? I think it looks fancy. Also, enticingly chaotic. Obviously, Doom‘s multiplayer has never had the same amount of pull as something like Quake, but this nonetheless looks like it could be loads of wild fun.

So, how do you get in on the beta action? If you purchased certain copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order before a certain date (which automagically makes you eligible for participation) or have been involved in any of the game’s alpha tests, then you’re in. You can get full details on whether or not you’re eligible for participation by visiting the game’s site.

The closed beta will begin on March 31st on PC, PS4 and XBO, and will continue until April 3rd. There’ll be two maps available (Heatwave and Infernal), along with two game modes to play: team deathmatch and Warpath.

Doom is prepped for launch on May 13th.
