Ever since hitting the scene in 1988, Batman: The Killing Joke has remained one of the most influential graphic novels in existence. It tells two stories at once, both relating to the origins of Joker, as well as his attempt to prove that going crazy just takes one bad day. If you haven’t read it yet, go do it now! It’s worth it.
Or you could just watch the upcoming animated movie adaptation. It’s got Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and Tara Strong providing the voice talents, and it’s Batman’s first ever R-rated animated film.
Now, I don’t know if that got you excited, but I’m so hyped you could cut glass with my nipples. It’s good to hear Mark Hamill as the voice of Joker, especially after him previously saying he’d only reprise the role for a Killing Joke adaptation. If this is to be his last rodeo as Joker, then it looks like he’ll be going out with a bang.
Batman: The Killing Joke will launch directly to home entertainment (DVD, Blu-ray and digital), and the film is set to premiere at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.
