There’s a Battlefield 1 closed alpha going on at the moment, and you know what that means? DATA-MINES. Just like real mines in the real Great War, but with less, like, real explosions and real dismembered limbs and real deaths. So maybe not actually like real mines. But still mines, just a different sort of mines. Let’s stop talking about mines.
Over on Reddit, user Lobix300 has dropped a megaton leakbomb revealing everything you want to know about the game. Or don’t want to know. Enemy spoilers in the trenches ahead, troops.
Battlefield 1 will feature 10 multiplayer maps at launch, and seven modes, including series’ regulars like Rush and Conquest:
The campaign spans a prologue and six subsequent episodes, with each one besides the prologue divvied up into multiple sections. As somebody in the Reddit discussion points out, the game’s final chapter, “Saving a Life” could refer to an, uh, incident with British soldier Henry Tandey, whose decision to hold his fire might have had some unexpected consequences.
There are also some 50 or so weapons in the list, and four classes – Assault, Medic, Support, and Scout – with their own unique kits. And there’s a “Zeppelin Raid Medal”. Whatever that might be about.
Game’s out on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in October.
