So, Red Dead Retribution definitely isn’t a thing, but this could be. According to a user over on NeoGAF, Korean website Game Focus is reporting that there’s a Red Dead Redemption remaster in the works for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with an official announcement expected this week, probably at the PlayStation Meeting in New York tomorrow. Yeehaw?
I’m not convinced that a remastered version of the game is even necessary on Xbox One because the backwards compatible Xbox 360 version giddies up rather nicely now, but that’s obviously not available on PS4 and it was never out on PC.
Buuuut, hold your horses. It doesn’t make much sense for Rockstar to launch a remaster when it’s only just dropped on the Xbox One backwards compatible list, and with the PlayStation Meeting all about the new PS4 Neo console, why show it off next to a game that’s already been out six years?
If Rockstar’s actually prepping to reveal Red Dead Redemption 2 as a PlayStation Neo exclusive with a free copy of Red Dead Redemption: Wilder West Edition with every pre-order, though, you read it here first, cowboy.
