It was that or “Star Trek Online now making it so on PS4 and Xbox One”, but that’s kind of more specific to Star Trek: The Next Generation, isn’t it? I mean, that was the best Star Trek TV series, OBVIOUSLY, but I think Kirk’s quote works better in the context of an MMO, anyway. Or maybe “Star Trek Online opens hailing frequencies on PS4 and Xbox One”. Or even “Star Trek Online beams onboard PS4 and Xbox One”. Or “Star Trek Online sends away team to PS4 and Xbox One”. I’ll stop now.
First launched on PC in 2010, the free-to-play game is now out on console, and features the voices of classic Star Trek actors including Jeri Ryan and Tim Russ , and Tim Russ (Tuvok and Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager), and Michael Dorn (Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation). The first two expansions – Legacy of Romulus and Delta Rising – are also available.
The game is set 30 years after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis, during which time the wobbly alliance between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire has inevitably collapsed, and the Borg are back on the scene.
Set phasers to fun. (Sorry. Not sorry.)
