Oh, you guessed it. Reddit user GruffBarbarian is encouraging people to vote for Half-Life 2 in a thread entitled “Let Valve Know”. Like they don’t or something.
It’s happening right now at Valve HQ, I bet.
“Uh, Mr Newell?”
“WHAT IS IT, JUSTIN? I’M HAVING LUNCH.”
“Didn’t you just have lunch?”
“The thing is, Mr Newell…”
“It’s the fans, Mr Newell. They want a Half-Life 2 sequel.”
“THAT’S THE FIRST I’VE HEARD OF IT.”
Launched next to the annual Steam Autumn Sale, the inaugural Steam Awards includes categories like “Best Use Of A Farm Animal” and “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye”, but “We Didn’t Think Of Everything” is up to you to decide.
“There are as many great ideas for awards as there are great games to play. And so we turn to the Steam Awards Selection Committee to come up with their own category and nominee,” explains the blurb. “Senior members of the Selection Committee will review the write-in entries and create an entirely new category based on the feedback provided.”
It’s probably safe to assume that something about Harambe will win, though. The internet doesn’t know how to let go.
