prey-2017-1

First announced at E3 earlier this year, the Prey reboot looked really interesting. It looked even more intriguing in the trailer that followed not too long afterwards.

But now it’s time for the most in-depth look at the game we’ve had to date, thanks to a brand new trailer revealed at The Game Awards, and eight minutes of gameplay footage posted by Bethesda earlier today. Strap in, because Prey looks to be one of the most exciting games set to release next year.

First off, let’s have a look at the more cinematic-focussed trailer from TGA. It’s filled with pretty scenes, dramatic Russians, crazy weapons, gruesome aliens, mug possession, and spaaaaaaaaace.

Pretty cool right? Right. I’m not the first one to say it, but the game really does look like a cross between System Shock, Doom, and Dead Space.

The next trailer is simply titled “Prey – 8 Minutes of Gameplay.” and that’s exactly what you get. “Powers. Tools. Weapons. Aliens. And a massive space station,” reads the description. “In signature style, Arkane Studios’ sci-fi thriller blends simulation and narration, dropping you into a carefully crafted world, then setting you free to play as you want.” Oh, and the aliens can turn into inanimate objects, just waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims. Don’t. Trust. Anything.

The game is due to launch on PC, XBO, and PS4 sometime next year.
