I’m not a massive fan of either the Jason or Friday the 13th film franchises, so I’m baffled as to why Friday the 13th: The Game intrigues me as much as it does. Maybe it’s the oh-so-gruesome executions, the 80s vibe of it all, or maybe it’s just because it genuinely looks fun to play.
Whatever the reason, I’m looking forward to the game’s release sometime later this year, and even more so thanks to its latest trailer. In it, Jason (teleports?) teleports around the map, flings pointy objects at people like he’s my ex-girlfriend, and witnesses vehicular manslaughter.
Friday the 13th: The Game is mostly centred around a multiplayer experience, with one player controlling the masked assailant, and the rest trying not to die, but developer Gun Media has stated that the game will be getting a single player mode.
The game’s multiplayer mode is expected to drop early this year for PC, PS4, and XBO, with the single player part showing up a little later.
