Square Enix has announced that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is getting a new expansion next month. In the prequel story A Criminal Past, reluctant cybercop protagonist Adam Jensen must infiltrate a “hostile” maximum security, augs-only prison and secure some super important intel from another secret operative in the facility, presumably with a lot of creeping through air-conditioning ducts and snooping through private email correspondences and dragging bodies behind boxes from one plot point to the next.

“Success will help the fight against terror around the world,” says the press stuff. “But Jensen will need to confront a darker side to his role before the day is done.”

I mean, everybody knows what happens to the police in prison. What? No, not that. I mean they don’t get much yard time for their own protection.

The expansion will also feature new and existing characters, including TF29’s somewhat, uh, questionable office psychiatrist Delara Auzenne.

It’s out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on 23 February, and is available as part of the season pass or sold separately. No prices have been confirmed, however.
