I probably played Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege for a total of about 15 minutes. It was really fun, but 15 minutes isn’t nearly enough time to decide whether I’d actually spend money on a game. Which is why I’m really glad free weekends are a thing.

According to a recent post on the official Ubisoft blog, starting on Thursday (2 February), the extremely well received tactical shooter will be free to play on PC, XBO, and PS4. Full details below.

The free weekend will run from 2 February to 5 February¬†and will give players access to “all of the maps, modes, and Operators present in the full version.” If you want in on the action on PC, all you have to do is download the free trial via Steam or Uplay when it goes live. If you prefer console, you’ll need to have an active PlayStation Plus, or Xbox Live Gold membership, then head to the game’s store page and hit download.

If you like the game, you can pick it up for 50% off after the trial period “for a limited time,” and when you do, your progress will carry over to the full version.
