Just in time for some last-minute shopping for you (because you’ve got to love yourself too, you know), former NAG magazine editor turned megastar-indie-game-developer-with-a-proper-beard-and-everything Geoff Burrows is launching his debut game on Steam on 14 February. The kiffness.

Among the Innocent: A Stricken Tale is a point-and-click adventure game set on a derelict farm out in the Free State, and the first part of a planned five-episode series, “each exploring a stage in the Kübler-Ross model for dealing with grief and loss”. I’m guessing the mielie harvest was lank vrot or something.

“When struggling writer Peter York becomes trapped on a remote farmstead in the eastern Free State, South Africa, he is forced to confront a dark history in his bid for freedom,” reads the blurb on the game’s official website. It also features “a mature story for players who long for intrigue”.

And what better time for a “mature story” and “players” and “intrigue” than Valentine’s Day, huh. Wait. That came out wrong.
